WHAT IS A MATTRESS
PROTECTOR USED FOR?
The mattress protector
has two main functions: on the one hand, the mattress protector prevents the
development of odors, bacteria, and microbes; on the other, it prolongs the life
of your mattress by avoiding stains in particular.
WHY DO WE SWEAT AT
NIGHT?
On average, the body
can release nearly a liter of sweat per night for various reasons:
·
Stress: it influences
the proper functioning of our body and results in irregular sleep, which can
cause significant perspiration and night sweats.
·
A room overheated or
underheated: our body is then forced to redouble its efforts to maintain its
temperature around 37°C, and therefore it sweats in both situations.
·
Unsuitable pajamas:
pajamas that are too warm or made of synthetic material promote perspiration at
night.
WHAT ARE THE
DIFFERENT MATERIALS OF THE MATTRESS PROTECTOR?
Britwrap offers two
mattress protector materials to adapt to your situation: the fleece mattress
protector and the coated fleece mattress protector. All models of Britwrap
mattress protectors are Made in the UK:
·
The QUIETUDE mattress
protector in Britwrap coated fleece is a brushed cotton mattress protector on the
underside and polyurethane coating on the top of the mattress protector. This
coating is waterproof but not creaking: the coated fleece mattress protector is
therefore very comfortable and breathable while being very hygienic and
perfectly protecting your mattress from excessive perspiration or leaks. It is
a mattress protector in fitted sheet format with a 30 cm cap and a weight of
240 gr/m².
·
The SERENITY mattress
protector in Britwrap 220g fleece is a fleece mattress protector, 100% cotton
brushed on both sides. Unlike the coated fleece mattress protector, it is not
waterproof, but it absorbs any leaks or perspiration. It is more breathable
than a coated mattress protector and will be less hot in summer. In addition,
it is comfortable and hygienic. This model of a mattress protector is in fitted
sheet format with a cap of 30 cm and a weight of 220 gr/m².
·
The REFUGE mattress
protector in 400g fleece from Britwrap has the same properties as the Serenity
fleece model from Britwrap. Still, it has a higher weight, at 400gr/m², which
makes it even more absorbent for those who sweat a lot but do not wish to
choose the waterproof mattress protector in coated fleece.
HOW TO CHOOSE THE
SIZE OF YOUR MATTRESS PROTECTOR?
The size of the mattress protector for moving is the size of the mattress itself: The
standard UK sizes of mattress protectors are 80x200, 90x190 or 90x200, 140x190
or 140x200, 160x200, 180x200 and 200x200. They are all offered in the 3 models
of Britwrap mattress protectors in fleece or coated fleece.
Britwrap also offers
mattress protectors with adjustable headboards and feet, thus adapting to
articulated beds of 2x80x200 cm or 2x90x200 cm.
The height of the
mattress determines the height of the cup: at Britwrap, our standard is a 30 cm
cup which will be suitable for the vast majority of mattresses. However, we
also offer certain models in 40 cm cups for very thick mattresses or mattresses
on which you have added a mattress topper.
If your mattress does
not have a standard size on the market, you can contact our customer service to
ask us for a quote for a made-to-measure mattress protector, indicating the
length, width, and height of the desired cup and the model. You have chosen.
